186 A fairly interesting story line, but I felt there were a few inconsistencies, such as when we're told Esther was an obedient child, but then she enjoyed wandering away to enjoy the flowers and birds without her parents' permission. And, if Esther could read and write in her journal, why didn't she attempt writing to communicate with Paul (we're told she couldn't because "long years of staying locked within herself made that impossible"--yet she WAS communicating by miming). And if Paul knows Esther can read, why doesn't HE write notes to communicate with her? I felt that the story was manipulated and didn't flow naturally in several places.Also, when Esther moves a bed to sleep in the attic?? Wouldn't that be stifling hot in the summer and frigid in the winter?? I did enjoy Esther's strength and courage to face adversity and continue to face her challenges. Glad for the interesting storyline and HEA in this clean historical romance; but, alas, once more, I was also not able to open the Extended Epilogue on my Kindle Paperwhite. I would recommend to the author NOT to include a link to an Extended Epilogue, but rather include the Extended Epilogue in the same book.
